Healthy Meals in Childcare Centres Programme (HMCCP)
An initiative by Singapore Health Promotion Board
The Healthy Meals in Pre-schools Programme (HMPP) empowers pre-schools to provide healthier meals and encourages them to educate children on eating right. As pre-schoolers who attend child care centres or kindergartens spend a major part of their day there, these pre-schools play a vital role in helping them cultivate healthy eating habits.

Under this programme, participating child care centres need to follow food service guidelines. These include:
-
Cutting down fat, sugar and salt
-
Serving whole grains, fruit and vegetables
-
Serving healthy set meals
-
These meals incorporate food from the four main food groups – brown rice, wholemeal bread, meat and others, vegetable and fruit. These help students receive the appropriate nutrients necessary for their growing needs.
